30+ Black Owned Businesses To Support

Hey my loves, a big thank you for stopping by!

However, today’s post is not about me. Not about my looks, clothing choices, career, faith, none of that. I want to focus this post on my community, black-owned businesses.

Man 2020 is on something, I cannot even begin to describe it. It seems as though it is one tragedy after the next, but one tragedy that keeps repeating itself throughout history is how easily black lives are being taken away through police brutality and racism. It is sickening and in all honesty, it makes me numb every time I hear, or see a video about it. There are so many emotions, so many thoughts, I cannot put on a screen, cannot even put into one sentence. Just thinking about who will be the next Geroge Floyd, or Breonna Taylor, or Ahmaud Arbery, or Oscar Grant, or Trayvon Martin, or Sandra Bland, or Amadou Diallo, or Tamir Rice. And what I HATE about this feeling is that my mind is racing, scared to find out who is next. Something we should not even ponder on, but that is simply our reality.

However, June 2nd, 2020 was Black Out Tuesday, a social media movement that was meant for the entertainment industry, however, everyone joined in. The aim of this movement was to pause any sort of self-promotion for businesses. This ventured onto pausing the selfies, the self-promotions from influencers and bloggers, the music streams, to daily posts and to use the day to inform social media about the Black Lives Matter Movement and provide information and resources while giving everyone the time to listen to black voices in the wake of the murder of Geroge Floyd. With this, I also took it upon myself to ask my social media community to tag black-owned businesses on a post on Instagram. I was soo overwhelmed with the feedback, which reminded me of how talented, brilliant, creative, inspiring we are. Through my community I am bringing you guys a resource, so no one can never say they do not know of any black businesses to support. I am providing you a guide, from beauty to fashion/apparel to skincare to hair, to jewelry, to bakery goods, to catering, and so on, which reiterates the notion of just how powerful and resourceful our black community truly is.

If there are any businesses I have left out or businesses you would like to share, please feel free to comment or send me an email.
