Anita D. Matey was born in Accra, Ghana; however, she currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, where she has spent most of her life. Anita started her blogging career in 2016, focusing on expressing confidence through fashion, intending to encourage women, especially plus-size women, to not confine to society's rules of style and live by their own. Through her blog stories and style, she pushes the envelope in fashion as a size 16/18 Ghanaian-American to motivate women to love the body God has blessed them with while normalizing the ideology that our bodies deserve to look good and feel fabulous at any size.

One lesson that 2020 has shown us repeatedly is how short life truly is and that the only constant thing in our lives is change. It is also that continuous lesson of acting now. 2020 has screamed to me, "Do something you've always wanted to do, go after your dreams." We need to make the most out of our lives and enjoy as much as possible with our time. I have always wanted to curate a trip for women to network, learn, engage, and form a community!! And with how loud lessons of 2020 have screamed, I have decided to follow my dreams and birth Waaho Ghana. Waaho Ghana is a tour group that curates tours within Ghana to unite men and women through travel and culture. Waaho is derived from the Krobo language, meaning Let's go! So sis, if you have ever wanted to just take that trip, do it and join me, Waaho!
